Montalbano!

Montalbano is so big and so cool.
So here is some pics to show you how cool it really is!

I'm at the top of the world! Really, Montalbano is on a tall and big mountain. My dad was afraid we were going to fall off on the way there!
Isn't this thing cool? Well I shouldn't call it a thing, someone lives here...this is a house!
Cool, right were I want to live...on a cliff right next to a giant castle.
Well, only the castle part was true! Maybe someday I can live and own one!
Sweet, that would make me royal...right?

Stuffed in Homework!

Lately I have been stuffed in homework.

For tomorrow I have to study history, complete
number 1 on page 29 and number 1 on page 31
for math, finish 5 pages of math that is in my
notebook, study page 32 in my big math book,
study page 43 and 44 in English, complete page
44 in my (also for English) and then write it in my
notebook.

It's making me go crazy!

Last week I had tests out the ying-yang! I had
one test for math (don't know if I passed it). My
teacher didn't tell me. I got an A in my cooking
class. One day there was a flyer in the hall way
near the girls bathroom and I looked at it and
it was for a cooking class. So I signed my name
and then later that day I went to class and there
was cooking stuff out!!!! Only me, Erica, Meng
Meng, and Luna were in that class. (from our
class) (5A)

Anyway...and this week I had a geography test
and I got 35 out of 50. But today I found out my
geography teacher gave us a 7th grade test! Not

5th grade. So today I had the 5th grade test and
I got 45 out of 55...I got an A! Then tomorrow
I have to take a geometry test and a history test.
I'M READY!

Well, I have to be ready I've been studying all week!

Card Castles

Ok, so you've seen real castles now it's time to see some card castle's me and my cousin made.

Around Christmas me and my cousin, Salvatore, were really bored so we desided to make a castle out of cards. He made the first floor and I made the second. Yeah, he got the easy part and left me with the hard (going to fall) part! (LOL)

I also wanted to say I finished "The Tail of Emily Windsnap"!!!! I don't want to ruin anything for anyone who wants to read the book or is reading the book. So all I can say is that she lived happily ever after! THE END!

Reading...

Lately I've been reading "The Tail of Emily Windsnap".
It's a story about a girl who has never been in the water fully. (like a bath or swimming). The first time she was ever in the water fully, she starts feeling like her legs are coming together.
Later, she told herself and her mother that she is never going in the water again. A couple of nights later she goes back into the water and it's happening AGAIN! She tries to get out of the water but she's stuck. Then, she notices that she is has a tail and that SHE'S A MERMAID!
I don't know if Emily's mother is a mermaid too. But in the book it said that her mother hates going in the water. DOES THAT TELL YOU SOMETHING? But I have to find out more but I'm only on the 5th chapter. And there are 11 more to go (16 chapters).
I love reading expesally mysteries...

After Emily found out she was a mermaid she ran into another mermaid named Shona Silkfin. Shona had never seen a human with legs before...when they first met they didn't like each other very much. But then they became best friends...I wish I could have a friend like that!

Castles in Oliveri and Brolo

My cousin, Pippa, said that a prince lives in this castle. (above us)
Me and my mom are excited to go see it. But my dad doesn't want to go see it (he's afraid of small driveways). It is a very big castle but it is also a very old castle. Who knows how old it could be!?!?

The other day we went to a town in Sicily called Brolo. It was beautiful! Just a minute ago I was looking for a picture online of the castle above (in Oliveri), but I couldn't find anything. But I did find this:http://www.castles-for-sale.com/sale/Sicily/index.htm It's a website of the castle in Brolo. The castle is for sale. You want to know how much they are selling it for? Asking Price: $1,600,000.00 US
My goodness! I would only pay them €5...because that's all I have!

When we were in Brolo I went to the beach and I saw a volcanic rock. (probably from a volcano).

And I just thought how cool! Ya know?!?!

PEACE OUT SUCKER...I LIVE IN ITALY!

I love the beach! I think the beach is the most wonderful thing in Sicily!

Cool looking things...

This house below looks really cool doesn't it? It also looks new but it's not for sale. While I was
taking this picture the owners' dog was barking at me! And it was
a really big dog too!

And this below here is a picture of the ocean. And of houses below
us. All the houses here are 2,3, maybe at the most 4 levels...it's crazy! The apartment we are living
in now is 4 or maybe 3 levels. But
then we have 1 in the back of us,
And my friend, Selene, leaves next
to us.
These pictures here are just pictures of the island and the ocean...I love
taking pictures off these kind of things!

How old is the Earth?

Usually people don't think of the earth having an age. But really the earth is 3.8 to 4.5 billion years old. Wow! I wish I could live to be that old!
But how is it possibile to find this stuff out? The oldest rocks which have been found so far (on the Earth) date to about 3.8 to 3.9 billion years ago (by several radiometric dating methods). Some of these rocks are sedimentary, and include minerals which are themselves as old as 4.1 to 4.2 billion years. Rocks of this age are relatively rare, however rocks that are at least 3.5 billion years in age have been found on North America, Greenland, Australia, Africa, and Asia.

The difference in how old the Earth could be is enormous, but unless there is clear evidence, who can really say how old the Earth is.

Here if you want to learn more...check this out:http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-age-of-earth.html

Apple Pie!

The other week, my mom made apple pie while I was at school! It was so good! Usually I don't really like pies. But this was good!
I can't wait till she makes it again. And maybe I can make it with her.

Yesterday, my mom made "Apple Sauce Snack Cake". That was good too! I will have to take a picture of it and post it. Even though it has pieces cut out of it, it is still going to be a good picture.

"Black Madonna"

Some of you people who read "Litlequeen Rules". Saw that she posted this: http://litlequeenrules.blogspot.com/ (the first post)
She said here that the big church up on the mountain (here in Sicily). "Tindari" Is called ,the Church of the Black Madonna!
I don't know what that is or who it is, but all I know is this. (Copied from Wikipedia)

A Black Madonna or Black Virgin is a statue or painting of Mary in which she is depicted with dark or black skin, especially those created in Europe in the medieval period or earlier. In this specialized sense "Black Madonna" does not apply to images of the Virgin Mary portrayed as explicitly black African, which are popular in Africa and areas with large black populations, such as the United States.

That's strange, here it says that the "Black Madonna" is suppose to be Mary?!?!

The Black Madonnas are generally found in Catholic areas. The statues are mostly wooden but occasionally stone, often painted and up to 75 cm tall, generally dating from between the 11th and 15th centuries. They fall into two main groups: free-standing upright figures and seated figures on a throne. The pictures are usually icons which are Byzantine in style, often made in 13th or 14th century Italy. Their faces tend to have recognizably European features. There are about 450-500 Black Madonnas in Europe, depending on how they are classified. There are at least 180 Vierges Noires in France, and there are hundreds of non-medieval copies as well. Some are in museums, but most are in churches or shrines and are venerated by devotees. A few are associated with miracles and attract substantial numbers of pilgrims.

Okay, so here we found out that the "Black Madonna" is a Catholic. Thank Goodness! Because she seems kind of scary. If you look at the pictures of her here on this link you can see why I said that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Madonna
To learn more check this website out! http://www.interfaithmarianpilgrimages.com/pages/blackmadonna.html

Well,I hope you all in joyed that! Bye!

Hungry? Here this might make you even more hungry!

When we were still living with my aunt. I got pictures of some cool things she made.
This is a picture of stuffed calamari (squid). It was stuffed with it's arms and bread crumbs. I love calamari but I didn't really like the stuffing.

This is a picture of some anchovies. Of course they were cooked, and yes she did take the heart and bones out.
They were really good. But it was weird having them (the anchovies) look at me the whole time I was eating them.

Tiny Town? No, Tiny Room? Yes!

This is my room! I'm using my mom's computer.(playing a game) (Nancy Drew) Can you see how small my room is?

Remember the post I did called "Tiny Town"? Well now it's "Tiny Room"! LOL

It's the door to the hall way, my stuff on the side, my bed (in the other picture), and my mom's computer. And that's it.
I'm suprised to get it all in there!

Yesterday...

Yesterday, was my friend, Fabio's birthday party. I had so much fun, it was the very first birthday party I have went to since we got here!

I took this picture when we all were done eating and started playing.

This right here is a picture of Giovanni, and the other one I don't know his name.

This right here is a picture of "my" girls. Luna, Manuela, Selene, and Giorgia. (in that order) We were all acting like goof balls yesterday.

Here in this picture is all the boys. ?, ?, Salvatore, ?, Giuseppe, Fabio, Rosario, Giovanni, Biagio,?.
Some of the boys were from a diffrent class, and that's why I don't know their names.

Fabio opening the present I gave him. (Money) I just met him and I don't know what he likes so money was the best thing. Right?

This right here is a picture of Giuseppe, and Fabio. Right after Fabio blew out the candle's.

Giuseppe: Let's party!!!
Fabio: Happy Birthday to me!
That's not really what they were saying just what I can see from their faces.

This is a picture of Fabio's cake. Isn't it beautiful? As you can see Fabio was turning 10!

The other boys: Yea! The camera. Take our picture!

For Christmas...

For Christmas I got a Wii!! I always wanted one! I also have a Wii fit board, Wii Sports (Game), Wii Play and a snowboard game! I had to buy a new conroller (as you can see in the picture) to get Wii Play. But that isn't the only reason why I got it. I needed another one in case one of my cousins come's over to play. That way we could play against each other.
I got a used Wii. Why? Because it's cheaper. Where did I get it? I got it at "Game Stop". I was really suprised to find one here. It's inside this store called ,Ipercoop. That is the only one we have found and I don't think we are going to find anymore here!

I also got a bike for Christmas! I always wanted one of them too. I got a Mt bike, that has a bell, and a place to put a water bottle. My bike is pink. "Of corse" I have only gotten to ride it twice so far. Because after the First time I rode it I got a flat! So I pumped it up and went again the next day and I got another flat! And I haven't been able to ride it since!

Pretty...

Don't you just love flowers? I do, I think flowers are the most beautiful think in the world. That and babies.

I took this picture while we were exploring a town.

The other day while we were leaving Mt. Etna. We saw this town near by. So we drove over to it, and stated walking around. After
we started walking around we noticed the town was abandoned.
This picture is a picture of a church that they started but never
finished.
As you can see in these pictures someone started it but never finished. Probably ran out of money or something.
I wonder what this town would have looked like if it were finshed.
Another thing that I think is pretty is the sun rising. I took this picture while everyone was sleeping!!!
I wish I could have a picture of the sun setting but I don't! Sorry.

La Befana

Today, here in Sicily is "Befana day". Today I went to get a present from the Befana and when I got there it was crazy! Tons of kids running around, singing and dancing. OMG!!! Just now I got a game and some candy. I can't wait to play the game!

La Befana is an old woman who delivers gifts to children throughout Italy.

The character may have originated in central Italy, then spread as a tradition to the rest of Italy.

Many of you may think that La Befana is Santa Claus. But she's not...here they have both,Santa Claus and La Befana. First, comes Santa Claus then La Befana!!!!

If you don't understand here is a bioagraphy about La Befana:http://www.factmonster.com/dictionary/brewers/befana.html

Tiny Town!!!!

We had to go through a "tiny town" to get to MT Etna. But I say it was worth it! The streets wear really "tiny". As we were coming down from MT
Etna we ran into a bus!!!! My mom thought we
weren't going to make it!!!!!!!
This picture right here is of the center of the town. This is the largest street in the town.
Look how small this street is!Sometimes in other towns the streets are even smaller!
My mom was worried that we wouldn't fit!!!!

Merry Christmas... + our trip to MT Etna

Sorry I haven't been posting our stupid internet got disconnected or something. So we had no internet for 2 weeks!
Merry Christmas!!! I hope you all had a white Christmas!
For Christmas we went to MT Etna!!!!!
This right here is me (next to or near) MT Etna.
The wind was in my hair and all over me that day I glad I got this
picture!
In these pictures you can see the snow on MT Etna (it's like the
only snow in the whole Sicily. Here in Sicily we never get snow
never! The only snow here in Sicily
is the snow you see.
See how big it is? It is very big I mean giant. Everytime we see it, it is always smokeing! ALWAYS!!!
'Course it's a valcano so that explans
why.
On our way to MT Etna we had to go through a town...a town with very small streets! I have pictures of them just not today. But I do have a picture of a statue. I have
no idea who it is of. But it is still cool, I mean who knows how long it was there. Right?
It is very small but you can still see it, right?
We also saw 2 more statues but I forgot to take a picture and we were going to fast.
Well that's all from Sicily!
